The Kingston Wranglers made franchise history this past Sunday, securing their first-ever USPHL victory with a thrilling 3-2 win over the Canada Division co-leaders, the Montreal Black Vees.

The Kingston Wranglers kicked off their USPHL Premier campaign with a challenging road game against Universel Sherbrooke, suffering a 7-1 defeat in their debut. The game was a tough test for the Wranglers, who were heavily outshot, 77-26, as Sherbrooke controlled much of the pace and play. Despite the final scoreline, Kingston’s goaltender Aristdis Panoskaltsis put on a remarkable performance, turning aside 70 of 77 shots. His effort between the pipes kept the Wranglers in the contest longer than the score might suggest, and he should be commended for his stellar night.

The Largest Junior Hockey League In The United States, the USPHL Premier, will become not only larger but even more international than its first foray into Canada during this 2023-24 season. An entire new Ontario-and Quebec-based division will be joining in 2024-25, with five teams being announced right from the start and additional announcements expected in the coming months as negotiations continue with some of Canada’s top junior organizations looking to become part of the United States Premier Hockey League.
