2012 Wranglers Win Silver in Ottawa! - Weekend Recap
The 2012 Wranglers Seymour team was participating at the Riot Cup in Ottawa this past weekend, here is how it went!
The 2012's had a pair of games to open their tournament on Friday starting off with a matchup against the SSHD Black team. The squad started their tournament off on the right foot coming out of the opening matchup with a huge 5-0 victory! In the second game of the day, the Wranglers would look to continue their success from the morning when they took on the Beach Boys. Unfortunately, they would come up just short losing the game 5-4 for a even 1-1 record after day 1.
Day 2, the 2012 Wranglers and head coach Ryan Seymour would look to get back on their winning ways, and they would do just that. They would start day 2 just like day 1, with a shutout as they would defeat the Navan Selects 4-0. With the last game of their round robin, our Wranglers would be playing against the Golden Kids Outaouais and they would come out on top in dominating fashion, winning 11-1.
Having a 3-1 round robin record would be enough for our team to be playing in some Sunday playoff hockey, starting out with a semi-finals matchup with the MKHD Knights! The 2012 Wranglers effort would be enough to defeat the Knights as they won 3-1 sending them to the championship game against the only team to beat them so far, the Beach Boys. In the rematch, it would be another hard fought battle between the two squads but sadly it wouldn't be enough to get the job done, and the Wranglers would fall again by one goal losing 3-2 in the finals.
